Book Review: Merry Inkmas by Talia Hibbert

By

If you know me, you know I love Talia Hibbert and her books. I love her writing so much I would read her grocery lists, okay? So, when I found out she’d written and published a book about a brooding tattoo artist with a heart of gold who falls in love with a sunshine-y coffee barista turned receptionist, I KNEW I had to read it this holiday season. And let me tell you, this cute novella did not disappoint!

Merry Inkmas by Talia Hibbert is a holiday romance novella clocking in around 190 pages. I found it to be very fun, cute, enjoyable, and, of course, spicy! The story is written in third person perspective and follows our main characters Bailey, the sunshine-y barista, and Cash, the brooding tattoo artist. To summarize without giving anything away, Bailey works as a coffee barista but unexpectedly loses her job. However, Cash comes in to save the day by offering her a job at his tattoo shop and then he even invites her home to spend Christmas with his family. Things unfold, true feelings are unmasked, and some adult activities ensue haha!

I really enjoyed this story and Talia Hibbert’s writing style is gonna do it for me every damn time. The build up, the tragic backstory, the funny side characters: Merry Inkmas kept me engaged and smiling the entire time. My biggest complaint is just that I wish there was more to Cash and Bailey’s story, but alas, all stories must come to an end don’t they?

All in all, I gave Merry Inkmas four stars out of five, meaning I definitely recommend it to anyone whose a Talia Hibbert fan and anyone looking for a sweet and spicy holiday novella. I’m also curious to know, have you read Merry Inkmas? If so, what did you think? Let me know your thoughts and as always, happy reading friends!
